MOScholars is here and opening doors to K-12 private schools for qualified students who reside in the State of Missouri. The program empowers families who lack the financial resources to access alternative forms of schooling for their children, and Cristo Rey Kansas City is an approved educational partner.
“As we recover from the pandemic and the disruptions that it caused in education, the shortcomings of a one-size-fits-all approach to education are obvious,” stated Claudia Meyer, President of Cristo Rey Kansas City. “Thankfully, with the launch of Missouri’s new K-12 scholarship program, families have more options for their students,” she said.
Missouri enacted the MOScholars program to help families to choose the form of education that works for their children. The program provides options for Missouri families, allowing them to seek an array of alternative educational services ranging from private schools to therapeutic education services.
The program will serve students living in households whose total annual income does not exceed 100% of the free and reduced lunch rate. Additionally, the student must have attended a public school as a full-time student for at least one semester during the previous 12 months.
