
The 2018 Dancing with the Kansas City Stars was a stellar success for the students of Cristo Rey. Eight hometown heroes packed the grand ballroom of the Sheraton Crown Center and brought the more than 1,000 guests to their feet. The dedication and commitment of the 2018 Stars offered a resounding affirmation of the Kansas City spirit: every child deserves an education that prepares him or her for life.
A five star salute to our 2018 Grand Prize Winner Kathy Nelson! A hearty round of applause for First Runner Up David Hess and Second Runner Up Marcy Johnson. The all star cast was rounded out by Pat Contreras, Dr. David Emmott, Taryn Klein, Lisa Lyddon, Tony Miller and professional dancers from Allegro Ballroom.
Throughout the evening, the good glue that held the event together included Mistress of Ceremonies Kathy Quinn and the esteemed panel of judges - Jake Schloegel, Lauren LaPointe and The Honorable Mayor Sly James.
In the weeks and months leading up to the big night, generous sponsors and friends said, "Yes." The night culminated with a tremendous outpouring of support for the students of Cristo Rey Kansas City. Most significantly, community support inspires the students of Cristo Rey to go the distance, get their educations, and mature into contributing members of our community.
