Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week was set aside as the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Starting on  the last Sunday in January , which in 2022 is January 30 – February 5. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2022 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Through Masses, evets and days of service, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

At Cristo Rey Kansas City, Catholic Schools Week is a time to recognize the impact that a faith-based education has on the lives of students and on the community. When the Cristo Rey Kansas City model of education came to Kansas City in 2006, you stood with us to provide an environment where the rich traditions of the Catholic faith are integrated into the academic offerings. Thank you for making a home for students who want a Catholic education but cannot afford the traditional model of paying tuition.

In partnership with you, we have created a community that provides a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for young people to grow and thrive.  The blessing of a Catholic education would not be possible without the deepest level of commitment from our sponsors, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, our Corporate Work Study partners, legions of donors, and our dear neighbors, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. The Redemptorist Fathers graciously welcomed us to their campus and have steadfastly supported our mission to serve.
In a world filled with challenges, please be assured of our gratitude.

Ever forward,
John O’Connor
President
