They Know, They Can, They Will

Students at Cristo Rey are just like other kids. They are typical teens with heads full of dreams. With your help, they will join the Cristo Rey line - high school graduations, college degrees and careers that equip them to have stable lives. But, they need your help.
Their day-to-day schedules would exhaust most adults.
- 5 am - rise and shine
- 6:20 am - catch the Cristo Rey bus
- 7:30 am - in their seats in the Activity Center for Morning Assembly
- 7:45 am - first of eight straight academic classes
- 4 pm - end of the day bell
- 6:30 pm - home to hit the books
Then, there is that fifth day of the school week. Each student at Cristo Rey works one day a week in a corporate setting. They are on-site in the offices of one of the 100+ Corporate Work Study Program partner offices. While gaining valuable work skills and a four-year resume, each earns approximately half of the cost of his or her education. On the job, they perform general office duties and begin to reimagine their futures. It's a hand-up not a hand-out.
After school, they are involved in sports, clubs and a host of typical activities found in every other high school. Cristo Rey is beating the odds with 100 percent of its graduates accepted to college and 63 percent of its alumni persisting to college graduation.
But, they need your help. With the cost of a Cristo Rey education at $13,500 annually and students earning $6,700 through work study, each student needs support from the community to complete the cost of education. With community support, we can keep the Cristo Rey line moving - high school graduation, college degrees and careers.
Support a student, support a dream.
