Cristo Rey Kansas City - A School That Works

President John O'Connor IV has announced his intention to step down as Cristo Rey Kansas City's third president at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 academic year. O'Connor has served the school community for five years. To ensure a seamless transition, the Cristo Rey Kansas City Board of Trustees formed a Presidential Search Committee, chaired by board member Ivan L. Nugent, JD, Krigel and Krigel, PC.

As an initial step, the board appointed additional trustees to serve on the Presidential Search Committee and engaged an executive search firm. Committee members  include:

  •  Hubert Benitez, DDS, PhD - Vice President, Strategy and Innovation, Rockhurst University

  •  Paul Fenaroli - President, examinetics

  • Bridget Romero - Partner, Lathrop GPM, LLP

  • Sister Phyllis Stowell - Community Councilor, Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.

"The search for a new president is one of the most important decisions that the Board of Trustees undertakes," said Nugent. "In order to inform this decision, the board will be in consultation with the school's sponsors the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, the Cristo Rey Network and the with the community," he said.
