Our Admissions Team does not accept applications for mid-year transfer students or rising seniors. Admissions for the 2026 - 2027 school year are open now. (Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are no longer being accepted.) Please see below for the updated admissions process.
Eligibility
Students must meet all of the following criteria:

Age: Students must be 14 years old by September 1st of the enrollment year.

Family Financial Status: CRKC exclusively serves students who desire a college prep education but could not otherwise afford to attend a private high school. Demonstrated financial need is a requirement for admission and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis through the financial qualification process.

Academics: Students must have at least average grades and attendance and be willing to work hard to meet high academic expectations and the work obligations of the school.

Employability: Students must possess the maturity and work ethic necessary to be successful working with adults in an office environment and participate in the Summer Bridge program. All students must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Step One: Complete an Application
CRKC does not require an entrance exam. We accept applications from current 8th graders and transfer students up until junior year (space is limited for 10th and 11th grade). The application for admission is completed online at SchoolAppKC or in person by visiting the Admissions Office at Cristo Rey Kansas City.* If you have any questions over the online application, please visit the Admission & Application FAQs section.

Bring physical copies of the above documents to Cristo Rey Kansas City, at 211 Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64155.
Once these steps are completed, the Cristo Rey KC Admissions team will reach out to you for your student to complete an in-person interview.
Please Note: Accepted students who successfully complete the admissions process must also successfully complete the mandatory two-week long Corporate Work-Study Summer Bridge Program.

Application Process
How do I access the online application?
1. Go to SchoolAppKC
2. Click on "Apply to Participating Schools"
3. Click on "Sign Up" and fill out login information
4. Sign into created account and fill out personal information
5. Add your student
6. Click "Start Form" and select "Upcoming School Year 2026/27"
7. Fill out the application. Once you get to "Choose Preferred Schools," click "Add School" and select "Cristo Rey of KC"
8. Submit Application
When should my student apply?
Applications for Fall 2026/Spring 2027 are currently open! We have limited space, so please apply as soon as possible. Once we meet capacity, applicants will be put on a wait list. We do not accept mid-year transfer students or rising seniors.
When will I know if my student was accepted?
Once the application process is completed, including an in-person student interview, the Admissions committee meets to evaluate each candidate, and decides if the student will be admitted to the school. This process can take up to a week.
Academic
Does Cristo Rey KC have designated Special Education services?
Currently, Cristo Rey KC does not have a designated special education program and can provide only limited accommodations to support emotional and academic success. Consequently, not all accommodations in a student's IEP or 504 plan can be provided.
Is Cristo Rey KC accredited?
Yes! Cristo Rey KC is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA-CASI), which is part of the broader Cognia accreditation system.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, all students are required to wear their school uniform both at school and at their corporate work study job.
Corporate Work Study Employability
What is the age requirement for students to participate in the Corporate Work Study Program?
Students must be at least 14 years old by September 1st of the current school year.
What documents are required to participate in the Corporate Work Study Program?
Each student must be a legal permanent resident or have a valid worker's authorization permit. Students are required to complete an I9 form, providing valid physical copies of identification.
Do students get to pick their corporate work study job?
Students are interviewed and evaluated and their interest and skills are taken into consideration for job placement; ultimately, the Corporate Work study program team decides where each student works each year.
Do all students need to work?
Yes, all students participate in the Corporate Work Student Program for all four years at Cristo Rey KC. Therefore, as a requirement for admissions, all students must be 14 years old and have the necessary documentation to be legally employed in the United States. Students who cannot hold a job cannot remain in the academic program.
Do students need to wear their uniforms at their corporate work study job?
Yes, students must wear their school uniforms both at school and at their corporate work study job.
How does my student get to their corporate work study job?
Cristo Rey KC provides transportation to and from school and to and from students' corporate work study jobs!
Eligibility
Do you have to be a Missouri resident to attend Cristo Rey KC?
No, we welcome students from both Kansas and Missouri! If you do not live in the Kansas City Public School District, please contact our office to schedule a time to come in and fill out the application.
Do you have to be Catholic to attend Cristo Rey KC?
No, Cristo Rey KC welcomes students from all religious backgrounds! Students must be open to faith-based education and must be open to participating in school retreats, monthly Mass, and Theology classes. These classes are for the purpose of education and do not intend to convert students to a particular religion.
Do you have to be Latino to attend Cristo Rey KC?
No, Cristo Rey KC welcomes students from all ethnic backgrounds!
Do you have to be bilingual to attend Cristo Rey KC?
No, Cristo Rey KC does not require students to be bilingual.

Do we provide transportation?
Yes, Cristo Rey KC provides transportation to and from school and to and from students' corporate work study jobs!
How much is tuition?
Cristo Rey KC uses a sliding scale when considering student tuition. The financial aid application is mandatory for every family. Each family must meet the income guidelines set by the Cristo Rey Network. The financial aid application includes providing tax documents and pay stubs if available. Families pay for school tuition as little as $50 dollars per month up to $250 per month.
What financial services does Cristo Rey KC provide?
Cristo Rey KC provides student scholarships that offset the cost of students' tuition; students' scholarship eligibility is considered on a case by case basis.
Are there translators available at the Cristo Rey KC office?
Yes! We have multiple staff who are bilingual and can assist you in the admissions process.
Is Cristo Rey KC sponsored by anyone?
Yes, we are sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, who founded the school in 2016.
