STEM in Community
Coding
Hands-on exploration demystifies coding for students at Cristo Rey Kansas City. With the Raspberry Pi, a mini-computer, students learn basic programming and circuitry. At summer enrichment camps and in the Introduction to Engineering class, the Pis are a perfect tool to expose students to the basics.
FIRST Robotics
Through the FIRST Robotics Competition, a team of students research and build a competition robot. Calling it, "the hardest fun they've ever had," students seize the opportunity to learn how to design a custom robot for each year’s competition and program a joystick to use sensors, servers, and motors.
MINDDRIVE
Build a concept car? Make it fueled by electricity? Drive it across the country? Count us in! Cristo Rey students participate on the MINDDRIVE team for experiential, hands-on STEM education. Professional mentors help students find their spark and work toward a common goal.
