The first year at Cristo Rey Kansas City will begin with a “bang” as an anonymous foundation makes a $100,000 challenge gift to the school.  The foundation has pledged to match dollar for dollar any gift made over the next year to Cristo Rey Kansas City up to $100,000.

“This is a wonderful challenge to have!” says Andy Stith, Director of Development, “The impact on Cristo Rey Kansas City that an individual donor can have with his/her gift to the school is doubled.”  Since Cristo Rey Kansas City stretches every dollar it spends, that gift becomes even more meaningful.

This grant will help Cristo Rey Kansas City provide students in Kansas City’s urban core with a high school experience that combines college preparatory academics and professional work training in a Christ-centered environment.  “Students who would have no other chance at this type of education because of lack of financial resources will benefit from this foundation’s great generosity,” says Sr. Vickie Perkins, Cristo Rey Kansas City President.

Please contact Andy Stith, Director of Development, at 816.457.6044 with any questions about this matching gift challenge.
